I'm so freaking excited that I have a new girl on the way. She should be here by early next week! She's a Volks SD Kurumi (dolpha 20 version) that I managed to find on the DoA marketplace. Cost me an arm and a leg but she's been one of my dream dolls for a while now so I just....had to get her. Never mind I swore I would never EVER have any SD size dolls again. I've already ordered a couple of leeke wigs for her, and now have to find the perfect outfit(s) and shoes. I most want the dollheart SD punk cat outfit for her first of all, other than that I will have to wait awhile until my doll funds slowly creep up again.

I have a few blank fairyland faceplates laying about that I have been meaning to do faceups on. I considered selling them, but I really can't be bothered. And blank faceplates seem like as good a chance as any to delve into faceups. I used to paint porcelain dolls (don't laugh at me now... haha) for several years, but the type of paint and skill I guess might be pretty different! I don't even know where to begin. I've done so much googling and youtube-ing and DoA searching and still feel completely lost. I wish someone sold a faceup kit that had all the paint types and basics. That would make it sooo much easier for me   Anyway, if anyone is up for answering, (especially aussies!) what *type*/brand of paint (or pastel) is the best? Brushes? See... I'm lost.

This weekend I will be in FRONT of the camera for the first time in a long time too! Not "modelling" per se, but my husband and myself are having a photoshoot done of us by my very talented friend Christine, just "because". I am all kinds of nervous haha.

This place has a weird habit of both inspiring me and depressing me at the same time. For obvious reasons I guess... I am sure it happens to a good majority of us. Sometimes it makes me want to throw my camera in the garbage. Or I get envious of people who can paint and draw and so it goes on.

I am amazing myself with how much time I have been spending here. I was even browsing dA while I was on holiday with my blackberry. After years of barely being here at all, I am suddenly on here ALL THE TIME. What gives? I guess I am just finding too much inspiration and beauty and talent. I'm awed and inspired and at the same time feeling like I don't measure up. You ever get that feeling? However as Zoe grows (she is 7 weeks old now) my mojo is coming back as my mind isn't constantly filled up with all things baby. In two weeks I travel to Melbourne for a workshop, then it's back to Sydney where hopefully I will have some time to start photographing properly again. Not just doll photos..hopefully. I have something specific in mind that I can hopefully do with Madison (who turns SEVEN next week... can anyone remember me posting photos WAY WAY WAY back of her as a baby?? They aren't in my gallery anymore.. but someone may remember) and I'd love to have some models to work some fun stuff with, but it's finding the time, again...
Anyway, I think I will keep going with featuring some of the art I find inspiring, so I hope you'll enjoy these pieces.
